Capturing The Legend
The biggest name in weather finally has his own game! A national first, Tom Skilling’s Weather Challenge is the first game in the United States developed for a local television news or weather personality.
When WGN teamed up with Designing World it was time to take the first step into moving the legendary weatherman onto the app store…creating a mini iOS-compatible Skilling for the masses to control. Starting with sketches, Designing World’ goal was to capture the larger-than-life personality of Mr. Skilling and distill it into a character that fully reflected America’s #1 weatherman.
Responsive Weather Updates
Live updating with Tom’s forecasts, Tom Skilling’s Weather Challenge not only shows you a currently live temperature feed direct from the WGN Weather Center, but refreshes the gameplay experience to reflect the bright sunny days, cool winter nights, and blustery spring rains you’re seeing in the live feed!
Custom level design and game piece variability adds a fresh perspective for daily players to keep the experience new and exciting with every new attempt to beat the current high score.
